I am happy to introduce our first three day retreat here at Sew Enchanting Equine!

We are having a three day course on paper piecing, focusing and honing our skills on Uncharted Waters, a paper piecing pattern by Judy Neimeyer. 

The Mariner's Compass Retreat has room for 10 students, and will include lunch and dinner for 3 days, our lovely instructor, 5 weeks of Wednesday tutoring, pattern, and fabric to complete this project.

All students shall pick up their fabric soon, and complete the cutting homework which can be found by clicking HERE and watching the video.

Meet your instructor, Karen Thompson

Quilter’s Bio

Karen has been sewing since she was in 5th grade. She made numerous prom dresses and other clothing items in her high school Home Economics class.

She enjoyed Home Ec so much she even became a Family and Consumer Science teacher herself. Karen’s very first quilt, almost 30 years ago, was paper pieced and she fell in love with the technique. 

She has taught sewing, paper piecing and quilting to her high school, middle school students, and adults for over 19 years.

“With just a few basic skills under your belt, anyone can learn paper piecing…things like knowing how to thread your sewing machine, sewing a straight line and using a rotary cutter.

It’s just not hard to get those perfect points!”
